Who We Are
The Senior Men's Club Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Senior Men's Club of Birmingham. It is a distinct, independent nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, with its own governing Board of Directors and Officers who select annual grants for deserving organizations within the Greater Detroit Metropolitan area.

Our Mission
The mission of the Senior Men's Club Foundation is to provide financial support in the form of grants to qualified organizations, primarily in Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb Counties. Our grants focus on the interconnected aspects of community life, basic human needs and services, educational enhancement, and cultural enrichment. The Foundation is particularly dedicated to addressing issues and concerns that impact the daily lives of senior men.
Our Purpose
The purpose of the Senior Men's Club Foundation is to further educational, cultural, and civic activities and needs, promote philanthropic projects, and operate for the benefit of the community. We achieve this through financial support for other organizations that make a difference in the lives of seniors, individuals, organizations, and communities.
How We Award Grants
When an organization or agency applies for a grant, our Grants Committee makes an onsite due diligence visit and confirms information in the grant application to ensure the application is correct and valid. The Committee decides which applicants meet its criteria and recommends organization and grant amounts to the Foundation Board of Directors. The Senior Men’s Club Foundation has no paid employees. This structure ensures the cost of administration is low and allows the Foundation to maximize it’s grants.
