Chris Edwards, Channel 7 Meteorologist

Chris Edwards began his career as a weathercaster in the U.S. Air Force. He was one of the first meteorologists with The Weather Channel in Atlanta, before moving on to forecast at WISN-TV in Milwaukee, and KYW-TV in Philadelphia.

 

Edwards was the chief meteorologist at WJBK-TV in Detroit for more than twelve years before leaving in 2004 to spend more time with his family and to start his own business teaching weather science to students. He has been with WXYZ-TV for over five years now.

 

Edwards received the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval in 1986. He has been honored with numerous awards, including recognition from the Michigan Chapter of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences for Best Weathercast in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 and is the winner of three Emmys for reporting and weathercasting.

 

Married for 22 years, he and his wife Christy, a Birmingham native, have a son attending the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a daughter in her junior year of high school in Farmington Hills.

Elysia Borowy-Reeder is the Executive Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Detroit.  

 

She joined the Museum in April of 2013 after serving in leadership positions at art museums throughout the south and midwest and having curated over 40 exhibitions.  

 

Borowy-Reeder holds two master degrees from MSU, was named a 2008 Getty Museum Leadership Fellow, and attended Yale  University School of Management.
