News from the Front: Latest Developments at the State Senate
Rosemary Bayer is the newly elected State Senator from the 12th Senate District. The district includes Beverly Hills and Bloomfield Township, as well as Addison Township, Auburn Hills, Independence Township, Keego Harbor, Oakland Township, Orion Township, Oxford Township, Pontiac, Southfield Township, Sylvan Lake, and the Village of Clarkston.
Bayer worked as a systems engineer for Control Data and Amdahl Corporations. She then spent 15 years at SunMicrosystems, eventually managing a large global business unit which spanned 17 countries. Bayer then founded ArdentCause L3C, a database technology company.
She holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Math from Central Michigan University and an MBA from Lawrence Technological University. Crain's Detroit Business named her as among the "Notable Women in Tech 2018." Bayer is married and lives in Beverly Hills.
In the State Senate, she is Vice-Chair of the Environmental Quality Committee and is a member of the Appropriations Committee. Bayer also sits on three Appropriations Subcommittees: Natural Resources and Environmental Quality; K-12 and Michigan Department of Education; and Transportation.
