Work at The Center for Michigan and Progress on Bridge Magazine

March 4, 2016

In 1965 Phil launched the Home Town Communications Group whose newspapers served 62 communities, most notably our much-loved Observer & Eccentric.

After selling the company to Gannett, he founded The Center for Michigan in 2006, a non-profit Think-and-Do Tank aimed at bettering Michigan’s political culture and policy apparatus.

The Center’s focus is to shed light on the many challenges Michigan faces while pointing out ways to reform the political system.

After graduating from U of M, he earned an MA as a Marshall Scholar at Oxford University.
