Find out more about the homeless population in south Oakland County; what services are provided to our neighbors, including Welcome Inn’s low barrier shelter for the chronic homeless; and how you can get involved to support the most vulnerable in our community.

Jason Morgan serves as executive director of the South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless, a 501c3 nonprofit that operates the Welcome Inn Day Center. Jason’s degrees from Kalamazoo College and Boston University’s School of Theology have fed his career leading nonprofit, social service agencies. He is also active on local, county and State levels in an array of interagency teams, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Samaritan Counseling Center of Southeast Michigan.

Jason met his wife, Rev. Amy Morgan, in Brooklyn, NY. They moved to Birmingham in 2007 when Amy received a call to serve as Associate Pastor at the First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham. Together, and with this community of faith, they are raising their one son, Dean, who is in fourth grade at Birmingham’s Covington School.
