"Effects of a Complicated Global Economy on Investment Decisions"

October 28, 2016

Today, we truly live in a “Global World.”     Events that take place outside our borders can have profound impacts on the United States and ultimately the corporations based here.

As we look at the S&P 500 Index, it is interesting to note that approximately 46% of the revenues derived by its member companies come from abroad.

Since the economic collapse of 2008, the world has changed significantly.  We view these changes as structural in nature rather than cyclical.  As such, we do not believe we are in a period where we experience the typical economic cycle, nor do we believe they can be addressed by the typical fiscal and monetary measures. Hence, “Welcome to the New Norm”.
