Scott Grewe, Commander, Birmingham Police Department
Civilian Training for Handling Active Shooter

Commander Scott Grewe graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Multi-Cultural Communications.  He is married to his wife of 18 years and has three wonderful children ages 17 to 12. 

 

Commander Grewe is an outdoors enthusiasts enjoying camping, hunting, and fishing.  He has been with the Birmingham Police Department for 19 years.  Scott is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University's School of Police Staff and Command, The Law Enforcement Executive Leadership Institute and currently on the waiting list to attend the FBI National Academy for executives in law enforcement.

 

Throughout his career Cmdr. Grewe has been involved in countless training exercises for both the Birmingham Police Department as well other agencies throughout the county.  He has instructed in Defensive Tactics, Firearms, Taser, Small Squad Tactics, Rapid Deployment, ALICE and supervises the Field Training Program for new officers in Birmingham.  As an ALICE instructor he has provided numerous training seminars for our community as well as trained all the staff at Birmingham Public Schools.
