                      Chase $100 Million - Detroit Investment Update

John C. Carter has worked for 30+ years in commercial banking for JPMorgan Chase and predecessor organizations, serving as manager or executive in charge of various lending and corporate banking groups which provide operating and capital raising services/products to corporate clients.


He serves on various internal bank committees and has involvement in several outside organizations: YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit, YMCA Foundation, Forgotten Harvest, Judson Center, Business Leaders of Michigan, Detroit Chamber of Commerce, Detroit Historical Society, Downtown Detroit Partnership, Alma College Business Roundtable, UofM Alumni Association and UofM Business Club of Greater Detroit.


John has earned a B.A. from Alma College in 1978 and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1980.


He resides in Bloomfield Hills with his wife, Joanne. He also has two grown children, Megan and David.

Discussion - Dr. Warren Liu, Author - China: Key Success Factors

Warren Liu, a resident of Ann Arbor, received his BS from CCNY in Mathematics, his MS in Business Statistics from the University of Wisconsin and his MBA from Harvard Business School.  He is a Professor of International Marketing at Tsinghua University (Beijing), Tongji University (Shanghai) and Cheng-Chi University (Taiwan).


Mr. Liu has held positions as Vice President, Marketing, Asia Pacific, Schlumberger, Senior Vice President, Greater China, MasterCard, Vice President, Business Development, Greater China, YUM! Brands, and General Manager, China, Burger King.


Mr. Liu will lead a discussion of “Past and Future Rules for Succeeding in doing business in China.
