Congressional Update with Congressman Andy Levin
A union organizer, human rights activist, workforce policy expert and green energy entrepreneur, Congressman Andy Levin has spent his career fighting for an equitable and inclusive future for all people.
Congressman Levin serves as vice chair of the House Education and Labor Committee and as a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Through his committee assignments, Congressman Levin has worked hard to raise the dignity and value of working people in America while fighting for human rights at home and abroad. Lowering the cost of health care and prescription drugs, reforming labor and trade laws to lift up workers, and lowering the cost of college have also been focuses of Congressman Levin’s legislative work.
Born in Detroit and raised in Berkley, Michigan, Andy is an honors graduate of Williams College and Harvard Law School and holds a Masters Degree from the University of Michigan in Asian Languages and Cultures, where he was a Mellon Fellow in the Humanities.
Andy married his high school sweetheart Mary Freeman in 1991. They have four children, Koby, Saul, Ben, and Molly and live in Bloomfield Township.
