                  Plans for the Newest Michigan State Park

Rich with history and natural beauty, Belle Isle Park is a Detroit gem and Michigan's 102nd state park.

 

Under terms of a 30-year lease agreement with the City of Detroit, the city maintains ownership of Belle Isle while the Michigan Department of Natural Resources manages the island according to the high standards of Michigan's award-winning state park system.

Frank Lloyd Wright (born Frank Lincoln Wright, June 8, 1867 – April 9, 1959) was an American architect, interior designer, writer, and educator, who designed more than 1,000 structures, 532 of which were completed.

 

Wright believed in designing structures that were in harmony with humanity and its environment, a philosophy he called organic architecture.
