Help Us See the Possible
Daniel P. Malone has an extensive and dedicated history of service in the nonprofit community, including serving on the boards of Generation of Promise, U of D Jesuit High School, Boysville of Michigan, and several others.
Prior to joining SVdP Detroit in March of 2018, Dan enjoyed a successful career practicing law as member of the firm of Butzel Long for 38 years. Dan has been recognized within the automotive supplier community as a legal expert regarding automotive safety issues. He has worked with governmental agencies, associations and domestic clients as well as many from South Korea, Japan, and Germany. Dan was the recipient of the Champion of Justice Award from the State Bar of Michigan. This prestigious award is given to practicing lawyers and judges of integrity who adhere to the highest principles and traditions of the legal profession. Recipients demonstrate superior competence and extraordinary professional accomplishment that benefit the nation, state and local community.
Dan’s priorities as CEO of SVdP Detroit include taking a personal approach to all initiatives, making the mission as inclusive as possible, and striving to make the organization more financially secure. There’s work to be done to accomplish all three, but he is confident that with everyone working as a team of teams, these and many other important priorities can be achieved.
Dan grew up in Redford Township, attended St. Robert Bellarmine church and school, and continued his education at U of D Jesuit, Cornell University, and the University Of Detroit School Of Law. He and his dear wife, Claudia, are parish members of Holy Name in Birmingham and recently celebrated their fortieth anniversary. They have three grown children and have been blessed with three grandchildren.
