Better Together: Affirming Persons of All Abilities

Rev. Joanne Blair is the Assistant Pastor of Inclusion at First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham (FPCB).  Joanne received her Master of Divinity from Detroit’s Ecumenical Theological Seminary in 2010.  She served as a chaplain at Children’s Hospital for three years before joining the staff at FPCB.

Aside from her work at the church seeking to affirm the gifts of persons of all abilities, Joanne also consults with other churches that wish to develop an Inclusion Ministry.  She is one of only a few ordained pastors in the country whose primary role is dedicated to inclusion.

As Pastor of Inclusion, Joanne works closely with people of all abilities.  In her discussion, Joanne will describe how the entire community has benefited and grown from a focused program of inclusion.
