Program - C. Peter Theut, CEO, China Bridge, What You Need to Know About China Bridge

Peter Theut is President and CEO of China Bridge.  Headquartered in Ann Arbor, China Bridge is a strategic partnering and international consulting company focused on assisting clients to bridge the cultural, business development, and operational challenges in the global marketplace.  China Bridge works with US companies doing business in China or companies interested in expanding into China.  They also help Chinese companies enter the US market.

Mr. Theut received a BA in 1960 and a JD in 1963 from the University of Michigan.  Prior to founding China Bridge, Mr. Theut was a partner at Butzel Long for 22 years.  At Butzel he chaired the firm’s Global Trade and Transaction Practice, the China Initiative, and served as a member of the Executive Committee of the China Alliance.  He authored  “Practical Considerations for Doing Business in China” in Best Practices for International Business Transactions in China: Leading Lawyers on Structuring and Negotiating Trade Transactions and Understanding the Importance of Due Diligence (Thomason West 2009).  Mr. Theut is acknowledged as a Michigan Super Lawyer.

His professional military education includes Officer Candidate School, The Basic School, Adjutant Course, Recruiter Management Course, Eastern Recruiting Region Operations Officer Course, and Command and Staff College.

 

He also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, and a Master of Professional Studies in Homeland Security from the University of Connecticut, Storrs.
